Ordered this as an chair for my home office. Overall a nice product, modern looking, comfortable and seems of a good quality for the price. Not entirely sure how robust or useful the leg rest is. Compared to other suppliers where you have minimum assembly, the chair comes completely disassembled, so you will need to spend some time, possibly at least an hour, to put it together. The main issue is the gas lift - this is the main adjustable plinth that connects the seat to the swivel base. The gas lift supplied had a 7" body. This meant the height adjustment was limited and the arm rests are below the height of the desk, making it unusable with a keyboard. The product dimensions were a bit confusing to understand and a little higher than the actual measurements of the assembled chair. Completing some online research, I found that the gas lifts are fairly standard sizes and it was possible to get different lengths. The next one up is a 9" body, which is the same length as another office chair I have that works with a desk. You could go for a 11", however, that might be too high. I ordered a replacement gas lift for about £12 from eBay. The challenge then was removing the original gas lift from the assembled chair. Gas lifts are designed with a pressure fit, and needed a large pipe wrench to remove it from the seat fitting, which inevitably scratched the gas lift and therefore best not used again. The new one was then fitted and the chair now has the correct level of adjustment. I initially completed a form on the Aosom web site, with no reply, so I sent a direct email detailing the issue and the cost of the new gas lift. After requesting further evidence and pictures they refunded this. So, I'm impressed by the customer service. Main learning point for Aosom is to make sure the chair height adjustment range is suitable for the intended purpose and the typical height of an office desk, including a longer gas lift. Also to make sure the dimensions are accurately and clearly communicated on the web site.
