My 4-year-old Yorkie is an excellent watchdog. His favourite surveillance point is a large bay window on our second floor, which gives 180-degree visibility of any happenings in our road. Like a doorman, most people pass by okay, but if there's a particular individual or dog that he doesn't like the look of, he will certainly let us know!The bay ledge was too high for a jump, so we used to lift him up there. Also, although he could jump down, we added a cushion to avoid his landing on a hard floor.We decided to get steps, but choosing the right set required some consideration:Many steps were too low: our ledge is 60cm but, at 49cm height, the PawHut steps were just right.Foldable - no permanent footprintBalance portability against sturdinessDelivered in 2 days and easy to assemble.At first, we were a bit disappointed—he wouldn’t use them. I think he was put off by the steps shifting slightly when he climbed, as they’re lightweight and the feet don’t grip very well on laminate flooring. But with some encouragement, treats, and practice (placing him on the lower steps and coaxing him up), by day three, he was climbing unaided. Now, he races up without hesitation.Patience is key!After a week, I’d rate this a good product. It strikes a fair balance between portability and stability. One suggestion for improvement: the feet could use better grip to prevent sliding on hard floors.PawHut notes this product is suitable for XS and S dogs, and I agree. The steps are too narrow for larger breeds—and honestly, most medium-sized dogs could probably make the jump anyway!

Denley 17/05/2024I purchased these attractjve looking dog/cat steps for two solid little chihuahuas to be able to get onto the bed. One has injured his back leg and can no longer jump up. They feel very solid, although very lightweight and safe to use. The dogs took a couple of days of treat bribery to have the confidence to use them but now happily walk up and down. The steps have certainly saved my back and muscles from constantly having to lift the injured dog up and down.
