We have a decent-sized garden, and one section of it is kind of tiered. It looks a little like a platform because it is a step up from the rest of the garden. In that area, it looks like a floral paradise when the shrubs start blooming. Shortly after we moved in, I thought it would make a perfect outdoors reading nook during the sunny months of summer. So, when I saw this chair, I knew it would be perfect.To make this review easy, I broke down what I really thought about it into the following important areas. I considered what is important to me when it comes to a good garden chair, and then rated each feature on a scale of 1 to 5.In my rating system:1: 🙁 horrendously bad, hated it2: 😒 needs improvement3: 😏 It’s okay, neither great nor bad4: 🙂 very good5: 😀 excellent, loved itASSEMBLY: 2 😒– While the frame was easy to put together, and I didn’t have any issues at all, the canopy seat was frustrating at times. The bar they provided for stretching the canopy open was useless for me; I found it easier to stand on the outer bars and use my weight to open it fully. That was not easy though, I am only 5’3”, so keeping my feet on the outer bars was nearly impossible. I did manage to do it, but it took a lot of contortionism. You have to stretch it fully open in order to get the bolts into the holes that lock it in place.I also noticed that there were some errors in the instruction manual. I spent a few seconds looking for the missing nuts, before I noticed that they were mislabeled; I had to go back to the parts listing page. I laughed that one off.This is possible to be put together by 1 person, but it will be a lot easier to do as a 2-person task…especially when it comes to stretching the canopy. One of my biggest struggles was inserting the metal shims. I needed help; it was hard enough to get the bolts in, inserting the shims was impossible.DESIGN: 5 😀– I love the design of it. It is like a blend of a canopy covered bean type seat and a porch swing. I like letting it swing freely, there is something relaxing about that for me. But it can also be secured to keep it in place if you don’t like the swing.SIZE: 4 🙂– This is a large seat; I think the size is fabulous. But that is only because we have a large enough garden for it. This won’t be a good option if you have a small garden, it is rather big. You could easily fit an adult and child in this seat. The weight capacity won’t allow for 2 adults though; the max weight it will hold is 120kg.LOOK: 3 😏– The only thing I would change is the canvas canopy material, I wish it came in other colors. I like the way it looks, design and style wise, but I am not a big fan of beige; I find it boring. Plus, the canopy is shades of beige, but the cushion is gray. I would prefer it if the two looked like they actually went together.COMFORT: 4 🙂– I would have given it 5 stars, because for me it is perfect; I can cocoon in it and it is super comfy. However, my partner found it a little awkward. He is around 5’9”, and it made him feel like he was leaning forward slightly. So, the egg shape of the seat may not work well for taller people.Overall, I am happy with the quality, design, and comfort of this egg style garden chair. I think it is a fabulous addition to our garden. I may buy some colored cushions to personalize the look, but it is a fabulous place to sit and read my book 🥰.
