It took me ages to find this but it was well worth it. I love the construction - it's really sturdy. I wanted a straightforwrd lifting mechansim that was not going to break and this parasol has just that: a rope and pulley: in my opinion far superior to a crank mechanism. The canopy is waterproof! In the photo I think you can see that although there was heavy rain last night the paving under the parasol is dry. I love the colour. Also, I love the price. One thing, the pole might be a little tall for some uses. It was fine for us. My husband assures me it would be no problem to remove a few inches from the pole (it is sturdy metal).
